October 23, 2017Update on Airlines flying to St Maarten
October 31, 2017Ricardo Perez, General Manage at St Maarten’s Oyster Bay Beach Resort just announced the opening of the resort’s Infinity Restaurant and Lounge on November 1, 2017. Perez in his announcement said the restaurant’s opening is the first step in the planned phased reopening of the entire resort.
“Because the restaurant and bar sustained relatively minor damage from Irma, we were able to engage our local contractor to quickly restore it to its pre- Irma condition. We were happy to accelerate our schedule of rehabilitation to get the restaurant open”.
Perez is excited to offer fine dining at an affordable price in a fun and relaxing environment. Oyster Bay Beach Resort’s Infinity Restaurant and Lounge will be offering a great eclectic selection of food and drinks. The ocean view bar will also be open. Perez said that although the pool and deck sustained some damage from Irma, work is ongoing and that the repairs should be completed in a month which will enhance the ambiance of the restaurant and bar.
The next phase, as he pointed out involved the actual opening of rooms at the property. “We expect that the first phase of 76 units located in the ocean-front, Mainsail Pavilion, and the Marina front units will be ready for guests in June of 2018.” He added that “a full array of amenities and services will be ready when the resort reopens its first phase of reconstruction.”
“We’re shooting for June 1, but there could be delays,” said Perez. Construction contracts have already been given for much of the work in phase 1 and equipment and furnishings are being ordered. Phase II and III, the remaining portion of the resort, is projected to be open by October 2018. Perez said it’s too early to set a firm date as contracts and prices are still being received.
