These St Maarten beaches are safe for swimmers

St Maarten’s Nature Foundation and many volunteers have been actively working to clear St Maarten’s beaches and the foundation have so far announced that the following are safe for swimmers:

  • Cupecoy Beach
  • Kim Sha Beach & the waters off Pelican Key
  • Maho Beach
  • Mullet Bay Beach
  • The stretch of Simpson Bay Beach from Halley Drive to Karakter Beach Bar
  • The beach in front of the Westin Hotel on Dawn Beach

People visiting these beaches however, are encouraged to still be be cautious for sharp objects and exposed rock formations in the waters as well as on the beach side. The St Maarten Nature Foundation advises wearing protective footwear or water shoes when visiting the beach or going in the water.

If you plan to travel to the island, here is a list of St Maarten hotels that are now open. These things to do in St Maarten are also available for bookings per December 1.
