When is St Maarten reopening for tourism?
May 24, 2020COVID-19 Travel Update: St Maarten Hotel Cancellation Policies
May 31, 2020COVID-19 is a serious global pandemic that we’ve all been faced with, and our thoughts are with you all during this time. Earlier this month we shared with you St Maarten’s Phased Reopening Plans and following last week’s virtual press conferences, news on when we expect St Maarten to reopen for tourism.
While the island’s key markets have been severely affected by the pandemic, St Maarten’s Royal Islander Club announced an update as of May 25, that the Royal Islander Club La Plage and La Terrasse are both scheduled for a tentative reopening on July 4, 2020 – subject to availability of commercial passenger service to St Maarten. If you haven’t already, you can book flights to St Maarten here.
According to Sonesta St Maarten, “these factors, along with extended government regulations and border closures” leave the company no choice but to make the difficult decision to postpone the reopening of both the Sonesta Ocean Point Resort and the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino and Spa to July 1, 2020.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
