September 11, 2017The effects of and damage due to major Hurricane Irma throughout the island are widespread. St Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport has incurred severe damage. As of current we have no news as to when the airport will resume operations.
The interior and exterior of the terminal building is damaged, including water damage, the roof and broken jet bridges.
Dutch Marines are on the island and has been working steadfast to clear the runway of debris to enable emergency supplies to come in by air as well as accommodate emergency evacuations.
