3 Major St Maarten Events & Festivals to Look Out For in 2019!

October 9, 2018The latest numbers as of the end of September show that more than 1,500 hotel rooms are now open on the island and availability will increase through this year’s end. Here’s a an update on some of the island’s largest resort properties:
- Oyster Bay Beach Resort (pictured above) has reopened with 85 remodeled rooms.
- Divi Little Bay Beach Resort is open and has 128 rooms available and plans are in place to expand with an additional 98 rooms.
- Simpson Bay Resort and Marina is on track to have all 336 suites and 83 two-bedroom suites operational this month. It’s renovating its meeting and conference room to expand capacity to accommodate larger groups.
- The Maho Group plans to open both the all-inclusive, adults-only Sonesta Ocean Point Resort and the family-friendly Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino and Spa in the coming months after renovations have been completed. Projected opening dates are November 15 of this year for Ocean Point Resort and February 1, 2019 for Maho Beach Resort.
- Belmond La Samanna will reopen its 83-room resort on December 10.
