In an exclusive statement to SintMaartenVacation.com by WestJet’s Media Department:
“WestJet has been a proud partner with St Maarten and the Princess Juliana International Airport for many years. We are devastated to see what has happened to the island and we have been in touch with our partners at the Canadian Red Cross to offer our support and resources as they are needed.
At this point we have cancelled our operations to the island until the end of October. We continue to work with the local airport authority, our hotel partners, and destination managers to determine conditions and operational readiness of the airport and hotel infrastructure to safely offer vacation packages and flights once again.”
