Tropical Storm Danny is centered about 275 miles east of Guadeloupe and continues to move toward the Leeward Islands. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts, Nevis, and Anguilla. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Danny is moving toward the west near 15 mph, and a west to west-northwest motion is expected during the next 48 hours. On the forecast track, the center will move near or over portions of the Leeward Islands late tonight or early Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph. Some weakening during the next 48 hours is forecast.
Tropical-storm-force winds are expected within portions of the warning area by late tonight. Danny is expected to produce 2 to 4 inches of rain over the Leeward Islands, the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico through Tuesday.
