St Maarten is opening and so are these hotels

With St Maarten’s SXM Airport having reopened October 10, St Maarten is making progress after taking a direct hit from Hurricane Irma just a few weeks ago.

While recovery efforts are still very much ongoing around both the Dutch and French sides of the island, businesses are beginning to re-open their doors including many restaurants and hotels. St Maarten is driven by its tourism economy, and so this is a welcoming sign – doors are opening, beaches ares being cleaned, and infrastructure repairs as well as the restoration of utilities are taking place. The island is also expecting its first cruise return in December.

While by no means are all hotels, restaurants and tourism attractions open for business, read on for an incomplete (and ongoing) list of hotel properties that are. Guests are encouraged to contact individual properties for more details.

Don’t forget to check out these things to do on your next St Maarten trip.
