Saba for Nature Lovers

    For couples who consider themselves ecotourists or who simply appreciate all the wonders that nature has to offer, St Maarten and the surrounding islands, and in particular Saba abounds with flora and fauna that can be enjoyed.

    Book a day trip to Saba by ferry and hike Mt Scenery – the highest point in all of the Dutch Kingdom, and see the Elfin Forest or otherwise known as the Cloud Forest at the top of the mountain featuring Mountain Mahogany covered with Epiphytes, tree ferns, orchids, a number of tropical bird species, and enjoy fantastic views of the island’s quaint villages and outwards at the Caribbean Sea to the islands of St Maarten, St Barts, Statia and St Kitts & Nevis.

    Active romance travelers can dive into undersea fun on Saba, widely known as one of the Caribbean top islands for divers. The reefs are teeming with endless varieties of colorful coral, fish and plant life. The island has a handful of diving centers where certified dive training is offered.

    The marine park that encircles the tiny island includes 38 dive sites with deep pinnacles, underwater lava flows, walls, spur-and-groove formations and giant boulder gardens.
