Best Sint Maarten/ Saint Martin Beaches

Orient Bay, St. Martin: This happening strand may be clothing-optional, but it also happens to be a beautiful beach. If you’re looking for water-sports action and a lively beach-bar scene, this is the place to find it.

Baie Longue, St. Martin: The longest and perhaps most private stretch of sand on St. Martin, and a fine place to spot celebrities staying at La Samanna.

Baie de l’Embouchure/Galion Beach, St. Martin: This crescent is encircled (and protected) by a reef, making it a prime family beach. But the steady breezes lure windsurfers too. It’s a great place to glide, and learn.

Happy Bay, St. Martin: It’s a short hike to this remarkably pretty, remarkably deserted scimitar of blinding sand where you can act out Robinson Crusoe fantasies.

Pinel Island, St. Martin: This tiny offshore cay makes for a wonderful day trip with a perfect lagoon to paddle around in.

Cupecoy Beach, St. Maarten: This Dutch-side beach boasts gorgeous multihued cliffs pocked with caves, and the occasional green flash sighting at sunset.

Dawn Beach, St. Maarten: The views of St. Barts, great beach bars, excellent windsurfing, and superb snorkeling enchant at any time of day.

  1. Kim Turcheck says:

Orient Beach is our favorite! Aloha Beach Bar/Restaurant with Max & Natalie who make you feel so welcome – the Lobster Salad is to die for and the best Mudslides on the island for sure! The beach is clothing optional but the vast array of restaurants, bars, shopping keeps you busy with water sports at your fingertips, and the beach is immaculate – white powder sand and the clearest blue green water you could imagine! This is my husbands favorite island thus far as we have been cruising and visiting many….we plan to plant our feet there for 10 days in Jan-Mar 2013 – plans are definitely in the making!!! We are there mentally every single day! Cherish your island it is beautiful!!! We plan to explore the island and all it offers in more detail upon our next visit as previous visits we were limited with our time as we cruised in for a day visit! Although we seem to always return to St Martin in our itinerary we will be doing a direct stay! The count down has already begun! We <3 St Maartin absolutely gorgeous island!
